Zipline Vegas: Las Vegas is known for its thrills, but some of the most exciting things to do around Vegas extend outside the casinos. In fact, the vibrant city has a lot more than the gambling halls it has become known for. So, whether you’re going to test your luck or not, realize that Vegas has plenty to do. Ziplining included!
Vegas has always been a place that I saw myself traveling to one day. However, it wasn’t until I began researching it that I realized how perfect a Vegas trip could be. I do have an adventurous soul, after all! Of course, learning that ziplining was a huge thing around the city was surprising. With so many options to choose from, I eventually set my sights on the Rio Zipline.
I’ve done a lot of exciting things in my lifetime. Still, I can honestly say that I’d never thought I’d get the chance to zipline through Vegas. I decided that the Rio Zipline was the best choice for me simply because it’s in the heart of Vegas. It offers 360-degree views of the famous Las Vegas Strip for the entire 70-second ride.
I knew from skydiving that 70 seconds of exhilaration can feel a whole lot longer than you’d think. Unsurprisingly, ziplining is no different. The zipline itself dangles 400 feet in the air and travels at truly electrifying speeds. Plus, you can even bring a friend along for the ride!
This particular zipline experience takes off from the VooDoo Lounge. The lounge itself sits at the top of the 50-story Masquerade tower in Rio. So, even the way up to the beginning of the experience is fun. The 800-feet-long journey sees speeds of up to 33 miles per hour and ends over at the Ipanema tower.
It’s worth mentioning another perk, too. After the ride, you can bring your receipt for free same-day entry into the Voodoo Rooftop Nightclub and Lounge. Just note the lunge is 21+, but it’s great for those wanting a taste of Vegas nightlife. I’d definitely suggest going after your zipline if that’s your thing.
Another interesting aspect that convinced me to choose this particular zipline was the return trip. After reaching Ipanema tower, the zipline takes you backwards to your starting point. This makes the total trip nearly a third of a mile long.
All in all, the experience is definitely worth the money. I think it’s the perfect way to start a fun day on the Vegas Strip. Plus, if you live in Nevada, you’ll get a 20% discount off the price of the ticket. Also, anyone who rides can come back and ride again a second time on the same day less than $18. So, regardless of why you’re going to Vegas, I’d certainly suggest a zipline Vegas style somewhere along the way.
