As for rain, Las Vegas gets less than 5 inches of it. There is a monsoon season in the summer. However, rain for days (or even hours) on end is rare. What is the temperature inside Vegas casinos?
It is interesting to note that the temperature inside buildings is always cool, no matter how hot it is outside. The buildings of the city tend to trap heat during the daytime. This reduces the temperature difference significantly. This trapping of energy is the same reason why you can feel a significant temperature difference between the Strip and downtown.
This also means that casinos, restaurants, and houses are always on the cooler side, irrespective of the record high temperature outside. Pockets of air tend to flow down mountains, contributing to breezes. This contributes to a drop of 10 degrees, even though the mountains are at the same altitude as the Strip.
